NPO encourages Naga groups to press on

Dimapur, August 27 (MExN): The Naga People’s Organization (NPO) urges the Naga groups to “exploring every constructive opportunity to achieve unity during crucial moments” even as the NSCN/GPRN, NNC/FGN, and GPRN/NSCN have agreed to work on a ‘one Nag national government.’ The organization has also appealed to the “other non-participatory groups” to join the reconciliation process.
“While welcoming such historic development, the NPO unconditionally extends support to fulfill every reconciliation process of different Naga fictions to facilitate towards an honorable and meaningful resolution of Naga issue. Exploring every constructive opportunity to achieve unity during crucial moments has motivated the Nagas’ quest for lasting solutions,” the NPO stated in a message today. The message was appended by the organization’s president ML Markson.
The NPO endorsed the highest-level meeting of Naga “political” groups NSCN/GPRN, NNC/FGN and GPRN/NSCN through the initiatives of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation.
Lauding the efforts of the forum under the leadership of Dr.Wati Aier and his team, the organization said the latest development has strengthened the aspiration of the Nagas to resolve more than six decade years old movement.
“The collective concert efforts of our beloved political leader’s decision to forgive and forget their past respecting the wishes of the Nagas are a commendable and common interest of every Naga citizens. May such unique gesture of our national leaders abstain from further fictional violence and defend the reconciliation agreement in letter and spirit,” the NPO said.
The organization has appealed to the “other non-participatory groups” to join the reconciliation process to further strengthen the “Naga movement”.
“May the divinely animated wisdom of our sacrificing leaders and colleagues usher new era of political solution which has evaded the Nagas for so long,” the message added.
