ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has appreciated the statement of Union minister for road transport and highways (MoRTH) Dr C P Joshi that four major roads in the state were under the consideration of the ministry for being declared as national highways.
The proposed highways are the 99-km Khonsa-Hukanjuri-Naharkatia-Tinsukia Road, 45-km Changlang-Margherita Road, 114-km Bame-Likabali-Akajan Road and 200-km Sagalee-Mengio-Deed-Ziro Road.
Praising state PWD minister Nabam Tuki for initiating the matter with the Union ministry for its consideration, an elated APCC said the bid to declare the roads as national highways was "a welcome step" as communication to these areas was very poor
