Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): The Naga Hoho today said “all other group” ought to also join the ongoing reconciliation process of the Naga “political” groups. The Naga Hoho has urged the Forum for Naga reconciliation to press for inclusion of all other groups into the fold of the reconciliation process.
The Naga Hoho met in its federal assembly on August 24 where the apex Naga organization deliberated on the reconciliation, peace process and extortion and corruption in Nagaland.
‘Representatives of various federating units strongly support the present reconciliation process and expressed view that all other groups also should join the reconciliation process,’ a note from the Naga Hoho’s assembly stated. The ‘hoho’ encouraged the Forum for Naga Reconciliation to “works seriously and sincerely” for inclusion of other group in the process.
The Naga Hoho federal assembly also took exception of the rampant extortion and corruption in the state today. The note said the hoho leaders expressed strongest condemnation for the criminal activity and has urged all sections of the society to ‘remain vigilant’ and ‘check such activities in their respective area which should be led by tribal hohos.’
Another point that the assembly noted with concern was what the note said is “the delay in evolving the Naga political issue.” The ‘hoho’ has appealed to the government of India and the Naga leaders to “bring solution at the earliest.” The note was appended by Kenyuseng Tep, assembly secretary of the Naga Hoho.
