Faith in Action Academy Nagaland wins 33 medals

Faith in Action Taekwondo academy has brought laurel to Nagaland by winning 33 medals in the all India Open National Taekwondo Championship 2013 organized by Taekwondo Board of India at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi from December 30 to 31.

All together 27 States of India participated with the strength of 1750 players competed in the two-day mega National Taekwondo Championship. Faith in Action Taekwondo Academy swept the runners-up trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 11,000, winning 10 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 11 bronze medals in Kherogi (Sparring) and Poomsae (Patterns) competition respectively in the championship and made history in the first ever from Nagaland.


Gold medal winners: Toshimeren Imchen, Sanjay Chetri, Swuto Assumi, Lokivi Aye, Toluho Yeptho, Anish Chhetry, Alice Chishi, Sherry Jindal, Monika Rai and Diana Chishi.
Silver medal winners: Thejaser Kevichusa, Altab Uddin Choudhury, Shaibal Sutradhar, Tokavi Yeptho, Calvin A. Raja, Riyon Dutt Pandey, Bohoto Achumi, Sanjay Chetri, Kevin Chishi,  Daksh, Tanishq and Mary Chishi.
Bronze medal winners: Hutoka Yepthomi, L. Inausana Singha, Ikugha Yepthomi, Edwin Joy, Ankit Chhetry, Nasher Uddin Choudhury, Jon Chishi, Ayush Ghosh, Carne A. Raja, Diana Chishi and Pongnyu Angel.

In the event, Nagaland team has represented with four officials Husheto Zhimomi, Bendangmeren Imsong, Ghointo Chophy and Alice Chishi as referees in the Open National Taekwondo Championship 2013.

Faith in Action team presented a stunning taekwondo demonstration in the opening ceremony where chief guest president, School Games Federation of India, Mahabali Satpal; Grand Master Lee Jong Hee, South Korea, Kikkiwon, World Taekwondo Headquarter and president, Taekwondo Board of India, master Sandeep Surya congratulated and appreciated the team for their performance.
