AR RECOVERS HUGE QUANTITY OF IMFL IN MOKOKCHUNG

On a day when Nagaland Baptist Church Council was observing fasting and prayer day against menace of liquor in the society, troops of 31 Assam Rifles recovered a full truck load of IMFL at permanent vehicle check post at Longtho in Mokokchung district on 01 Oct 2013. The huge liquor haul comprised of a total of 14,856 bottles of liquor being illegally smuggled into Nagaland. Approximate cost of recovered IMFL is Rs. 26,86,800/- (Rupees twenty six lakhs eighty six thousand and eight hundred only) in the open market. The liquor was being smuggled in a TATA 1613 truck Regd No NL-07A 4312 which was also loaded with some cement bags to conceal the illegal liquor. Three persons were also apprehended from the truck namely Mr L Peri S/O Mr F Peri age 35 yrs r/o Dimapur (Nagaland), Mr Koychung Thure S/O Laxman Chhetri age 34 yrs residence of Molari vill, Bokajan  (Assam) and Mr Tachi Thura S/O Mr Nitharu age14 yrs r/o Molari vill, Bokajan  (Assam). They were later handed over to Longtho Police Station alongwith the recovered IMFL.   The locals of the area were full of appreciation for such like action by Assam Rifles.
