Ao tribe completes tribal community learning prog

Altogether 25 young students and 3 resource persons from the Ao community have successfully completed the Tribal Community Learning Programme at NEZCC on June 7. Tribal Community Learning Proogramme is an ongoing series designed by NEZCC to address the challenges posed by the advent of modernity and the resultant impact created in the society, especially on the younger urban youth.

The programme culminated in a simple function where the students have performed various forms of art and traditional knowledge they have gathered relating to their community during the ten days period and shared their experiences which has benefited them from the programme.

Lipokmar Tzudir, Director of NEZCC, in his brief introductory address has thanked the Dimapur Ao Lanur Telongjem for their support and cooperation in making the training programme a success.

K Temjen Jamir, Editor of Tir Yim Yim, presented a brief review on the performance by the participants of the training and exhorted them to act as Master Trainers to carry forward the traditional knowledge that they have gained through the training programme for the benefit of the community. He also congratulated the Director of NEZCC for his initiative in focusing on the relevant issue relating to preservation and sustenance of indigenous culture. He also gave away the certificates to the participants.
In the ongoing series, the next group of 3 experts and 25 students from the Chakhesang community would commence their learning programme for the next ten days beginning from June 8 in the NEZCC Campus.
